1.  First of all – necessary documents

If you want to visit Brazil as a tourist, you probably do not need a visa. However, please check it – there are many people visiting our blog from different parts of the world, so we are not able to write about every country. You can check in this link from the Brazilian Embassy.

Make sure to check it. The migration card that you will receive at the airport is valid for 90 days.

Remember that your passport has to be valid for at least 6 months. Sometimes you may be asked to show your return ticket.

If you want to go to Brazil, do not forget to buy the medical insurance that will be valid in South America.

We also recommend scanning all your documents and sending them to your mail and someone that you trust (just in case you lose them).

2. Language

Many people think that the language used among Brazilians is Spanish. However, the language used in Brazil is Portuguese and it is not really similar to Spanish.

If you travel to touristic places, you may use English, but it is not that easy. Just to be on the safe side, just learn the basic words in Portuguese.

3. Weather

In Brazil, the temperature stays at high levels most of the time. If you are a European and plan to go to Brazil during the winter in your country, be prepared for surprisingly high temperature.

The humidity is also high, so you will need some time to get used to it.

That does not mean that you should take only summer clothes when you are packing.

In the tropical climate, it is common that hot weather during the day turns into cold nights. Be sure to check what are the temperatures in the places that you plan to visit.

You may need warmer clothes on buses or planes when traveling, so do not forget about them.

4. This is Brazil – people are unique

People in Brazil are very friendly and always willing to talk to you and help you. Sometimes it may be strange for Europeans, but this is just the way we are.

Try to observe everything and notice the beauty of our culture and people.

5. Vaccinations

As a responsible traveler, always have your vaccination book with you.

Except for having the basic vaccination done, do consider the vaccination for yellow fever.

As you may ‘meet’ a lot of mosquitoes, do not forget to take repellents with you.
